Right-Wing Extremists Attack the Iraq War Blogswarm

Posted by libhom Saturday, February 23, 2008

In an excellent indication that the March 19 Blogswarm Against the Iraq War is becoming important, the extreme right already is attacking it.

- A Very British Dude not only had a temper tantrum about the blogswarm, he also showed his mentality by using the misogynist slur "lefty twats" to describe the people involved in it.

- Dizzy Things joined the right-wing War on Science by ranting against the peer-reviewed Lancet article which demonstrated that as of the fall of 2006, over 650,000 Iraqis died in the war. His argumentation reminds one of that which comes from the "Creation Science" people.

  2. "heterosexist, racist, misogynistic or otherwise bigoted comments are subject to deletion" What about comments pointing out that you're possibly the most revoltingly smug blogger I think I've ever come across? I shall be linking to you, an no doubt more people will follow from me to you than the um... none who've come the other way.

Anyone who thinks that Saddam was a bit naughty in killing 600,000 people and that, chaos not withstanding his deposing is a good thing is by your definition a "right-wing extremist" and pointing my views out and enjoying a good argument with people who disagree is "having a tantrum" you fully earn the "misogynist slur" I used.

I bet you haven't the self-confidence to leave this comment up.

  4. The notion that anyone deserves a misogynist slur speaks volumes.

The tone of this comment shows that I have hit a nerve.

But if they want a 'debate' fine, (beware, pun ahead) the games afoot Holmes!

  8. Libhom,

You do realise that it was a crime punishable by death to be homosexual in Saddam's Iraq?

People who shout from the sidelines always make me spew. Why don't you take your gay little tushy over to Iraq and lend the people a helping hand.

Marching down the streets of DC towards the Whitehouse helps them not a jot.

And before you ask. Yes. Twice, with the Red Cross.

  12. henry: The situation for lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people in Iraq has gotten worse since the occupation, not better. The occupation has unleashed a wave of religious extremism, and increasing heterosexism is a major consequence of it.

  16. Libhom,

Well, my previous post wasn't heterosexist, racist, misogynistic or otherwise bigoted - did you get your knickers in a twist over the use of Anglo-Saxon monosyllables?

Or will we find that this post gets deleted pronto, also?

  18. Ah trolls the bane of the Interwebs. Big mouths...little brains. Funny thing is that when Saddam was gassing his own people, Rummy went to shake his hand and give him more money, when the Shah stepped on his subjects, Carter gave him more fighter jets, and on and on....

Face it jackart, its not the people that died, its that Saddam disobeyed his masters, and we can't have that, now can we?

And I am sure more will come this way, after all Trolls love company!

  20. Ah yes, trolls. And incoherent trolls at that. Incidentally, what I was actually going to ask Henry Crun was have you ever had any homosexual experiences yourself? So kind of him to pre-empt my question and provide such an interesting answer. I never realised that the Red Cross was down with that kind of thing.

Oh yeah, and I will be joining the loveable jackart in adding you to my blogroll. Although, I have to say, being called "revoltingly smug" by a rugby loving investment banker is quite an achievement!

  24. Libhom,

In what way was my post misogynistic? It was a discussion of the use of language!

  25. libhom Says:
  26. simon: You don't need to play these games. You framed the "discussion of language" in a misogynistic way. There are plenty of outlets for misogynistic comments in the blogosphere. This blog just isn't one of them.

  28. Libhom,

    No, I didn't.

It is becoming apparent to me that you have the greatest difficulty in understanding words of more than one syllable. I therefore suggest you use the following site before writing posts that include polysyllabic words (such as "science", "misogynistic" or "wheelbarrow"):
