A rightist blog is making a tempest in a teapot over a dispute as to whether Obama aids revealed policy details from the Bush/Obama discussion in the White House.

The use of gun emoticons is a dubious practice under any circumstances. However, using them in a discussion of the president elect looks too close to an assassination threat for comfort. Yet, that's exactly what some of the commenters did. It also is weird that the owner of the blog even offers gun emoticons. I'm already waxing nostalgic about the time when emotions were for smiles and winks.

These rightists need to be more responsible, and quite frankly, more patriotic.

  2. How quickly they forget! I can remember when I began blogging all the right wingers who called me unpatriotic for criticizing the president during a time of war.
Well, Barack is president and we are still at war!
And I can never think of any instance when a left wing blogger would make veiled threats against Bush (like using a gun "emoticon", or more exactly, "lack of emoticon") although one or two of them may have wished he'd die.

  4. The radical, rightwing is beside itself over the election of Barack Obama.

I've been saying for months, the Secret Service needs to step up and redouble their effort to protect the Obama family.

Especially, the two girls, Sasha and Malia.

I read Hallie Berry is now receiving death threats because the father of her daughter is white and the nutcase rightwingers can't stand it, so she's been forced to hired 24/7 body guards.

    This country is INSANE.

  6. BTW, friend.

I just learned today the global Marriott Hotel chain is owned by, guess who?

    Yep, the Mormons.

    Boycott, Boycott, Boycott!

    Please spread the word.

  7. Unknown Says:
  8. Look, I'm sorry but those freakin' Mormons are trying to take over our society. I detest that institution and yet I wouldn't dream of wishing anyone in their church any harm.

Frankly, this emphasis on guns when discussing Obama makes me sick to my stomach. It's very worrisome.

  9. Gail's Tails Says:
  10. The gun culture in the USofA typifies just about everything I dislike about society...
