From CODEPINK's Action Alert:
Five years ago, the Bush Administration went to war against Iraq. For five years, Congress has approved every funding request for this war and occupation. Over $500 billion has already been spent. If we include health care for the vets, interest on the debt to finance the war and other "hidden costs", over $1 trillion of our tax dollars have been spent!
Congress is now being asked for yet another $100+ billion for the occupation of Iraq. It is time for Congress to ONLY fund the safe and speedy withdrawal of our troops.
Stop funding Bush's war and instead use our resources for health care, education, housing and other human needs at home and in Iraq.
Listening to part of the Winter Soldier testimony only made it more obvious that there is no excuse for this war. Over one million US troops have been forced to participate in the occupation of Iraq. That has devastated the Iraqi people while creating enormous physical and psychological injuries for our troops.
This insanity needs to stop.

I believe Congress was handed a mandate in the 2006 election to end the war, but instead have chosen to focus on important issues such as steroids in baseball. Throw 'em all out!
I knew about Winter Soldier but thanks for introducing me to Code Pink.
I think you've done a wonderful job organizing the blogswarm. Thank you. Feel free to send me your email, you and I should stay in touch.

I didn't hear about the blogswarm in time. But I'll still post the link in my sidebar. Thanks for this information about Winter Soldier. I didn't know about it either. Oh, and I love your blog title. Cheers.
