Peter LaBarbera is one of the more entertaining of Christian religious extremists. His obsession is chronicling the more fun and ribald aspects of queer life. His group, "Americans for Truth About Homosexuality" has a site with lots of hate and stupidity. I suspect, though, that the most popular page on the site is the "Public Sex in Your Neighborhood" section. I would be shocked if closeted Christian fundies didn't use that page as porno.
Anyway, LaBarbera has been given the apt nickname of "Porno Pete." There's even a song and YouTube video making fun of him.

You remember the taunt in elementary school, "takes one to know one." I think that sums it all up right there. These people are totally in denial. I'm sure they have thoughts and urges that they blame the 'devil' for. Silly fundies.
I still don't know why people can't mind their own damned business when it comes to the private lives of others.
Here in phlegmatic, secular Britain it is strange to see how in the US Belief matters so much. The total and often quite unreasoning commitment people over there seem to show for their religions, diets, exercise regimes and so on amazes me. Is this a true perception or am I just homing in on the nutters?
